Tuya / Smart Life Lighting Crestron Driver — User Guide (v1.0)

Day-to-day use of Tuya-ecosystem lights (Feit and other brands paired into Smart Life) in Crestron Home, and what they offer in Crestron Home programming.

On the room screen

Lights are in the room’s Lights tile; tap ⋯ for each light. A light offers only what the bulb can do:

Bulb Controls
Switched On / off
Dimmable Brightness, press-and-hold to brighten or dim
Tunable white Colour temperature, warmer / cooler
Colour Hue and saturation (the colour control)

A change made at the wall switch, in the Smart Life app, or by another controller shows in Crestron Home within a few seconds, and runs the same programming as a change made from Crestron Home.

Scenes and the Circadian scene

Scenes recall with their fade time, and the Circadian scene adjusts brightness and colour temperature through the day; fades run on the local network next to the bulb, so they are smooth rather than stepped. A scene can set colour on a colour bulb when the light is Adjustable in Crestron Home’s tunable-lighting settings; the colour lasts while the scene is active.

Programming (Sequences)

Everything is in plain units: percent, degrees, Kelvin, seconds, and names.

Bulb Steps
Every light Turn on, Turn off, Toggle
Dimmable Set brightness (%, fade in seconds), Brighter (one step), Dimmer (one step), Start brightening, Start dimming, Stop brightening or dimming, Set hold-to-dim speed
Tunable white Set white — pick Candlelight (2200 K), Warm white (2700 K), Soft white (3000 K), Warm neutral (3500 K), Neutral white (4000 K), Cool white (5000 K) or Daylight (6500 K), with brightness and fade; Set white (Kelvin); Set colour temperature; Warmer / Cooler (one step); Start warming, Start cooling, Stop warming or cooling
Colour Set colour — pick Red, Orange, Amber, Yellow, Lime, Green, Mint, Cyan, Sky blue, Blue, Indigo, Purple, Magenta, Pink or Rose, with brightness and fade; Set colour (hex) — type #RRGGBB or #RGB; Set colour (hue and saturation); Set hue; Set saturation

Set colour (hex): the colour’s value is its brightness, so #FF0000 is full red and #800000 is red at half brightness. #FFFFFF is white mixed from the colour LEDs; for the bulb’s own white light use Set white.

A white is clamped to what the bulb can produce: a bulb rated 2700–6500 K asked for Candlelight gives its warmest, 2700 K.

Conditions and triggers

If conditions can read: On, Online, Brightness (%), Colour temperature (K), Colour (the nearest listed colour, or White), Colour (hex), Hue (°), Saturation (%), and Mode (Colour or White). Events: Turned on, Turned off, Came online, Went offline.

When the internet is down

Lights keep working: control is on the local network. The cloud is used only when the Smart Life account is linked or devices are re-synced.
