Tuya / Smart Life Lighting Crestron Driver — Integrator Setup (v1.0)

Native Crestron Home lighting for Tuya-ecosystem devices — bulbs sold under Feit and other brands, plus plugs, fans, shades and sensors — once they are paired into the Smart Life app. Control runs on the local network through Valethon ServiceOS and Valethon Connect; the Crestron processor holds no Tuya credentials.

What you need

Purchase

  1. Open the product page: valethon.com/drivers/tuya.
  2. Click Buy now (Stripe Checkout, $100/site perpetual) or, as an MSP, add the Tuya Lighting driver for the site in Service Stack.
  3. Keep the emailed license key (vcd_…) and the purchase email — both are required to re-download the .pkg.

A license key is for this driver only. A key bought for another Valethon driver is refused.

Download the package

  1. After purchase (or any time later), open the download portal.
  2. Enter the license key (vcd_…) and the same email used at purchase.
  3. Download Valethon.Tuya.Driver.pkg.
  1. In ServiceOS, open Integrations → Tuya for the customer and site.
  2. Show the QR code, then in the Smart Life app tap the scan icon (top right of Home), scan the code and confirm.
  3. The devices import with their names from Smart Life. Connect then finds each one on the network by itself — no IP addresses to enter. Discover now on the Devices card runs a search straight away.

Devices that are switched off at the wall cannot be found until they have power; they are picked up automatically once they do.

Get the driver settings

On the same page, the Crestron Home card lists every value the driver asks for:

Install on Crestron Home

  1. Import Valethon.Tuya.Driver.pkg into the processor’s driver import list.
  2. In Configure Pro, add the platform under Drivers → Platform → Valethon (Valethon Tuya Lighting).
  3. Enter the values from the ServiceOS card: ServiceOS URL, API Token, ServiceOS company #, ServiceOS site #, License Key, and Platform URL (https://platform.valethon.com).
  4. Each device is then published to pair. Add each one and assign it to a room — a device in no room does not appear on any panel.

Bulbs pair as native Crestron Lights; outlets, fans, shades and sensors as their own Crestron types. Each light offers only what the bulb can do: on/off, brightness, colour temperature and colour as its own datapoints allow.

Where the lights appear

Lights appear inside the room’s Lights tile. Tap the tile’s ⋯ to list each light. If the room’s lighting was set up before these lights were added, remove the lighting zone from the room and add it again.

Colour in Crestron Home

Crestron Home locks colour for a light set to Fixed; set it to Adjustable in Crestron Home’s tunable-lighting settings to change colour from the room screen and in scenes. A colour set by a scene lasts while the scene is active; turning the light off and on returns it to its baseline.

Troubleshooting

What you see What to check
Controls snap back after a second or two The license: in ServiceOS → Integrations → Crestron → Driver licenses, check the key is the Tuya license for this site and bound to this processor (Rebind processor if the processor was replaced).
A device shows no LAN address It is unpowered or off the network. Discovery runs by itself; Discover now searches straight away.
“Link revoked” on the Tuya page The Smart Life link really ended (Smart Life session expired or the share was removed): scan a new QR code. Devices already linked keep working on the local network meanwhile.
A light is missing from a room Assign it to the room; then remove and re-add the room’s lighting zone.
